The National Championship Show 2017 Critique

MPD (1)
1. Peach’s Tiobraid Solo Venture to Kilbourne,
6 months baby showing great promise, very pleasing head, expression and general forehand, excellent overall construction with optimum angulation and gently shaped outline. Covers the ground well in profile and comes on true but goes a tad close behind. Nicely bodied and promising coat. Has huge potential. BP and later won PG2 under Marita Rodgers.
PD (1)
1. Peach’s Kilbourne Lloyd,
9 months, excellent overall type and balance, quality head, kind expression, well-constructed and already showing great muscular development. Moves with scope in profile, just needs to improve moving out and back with maturity.
JD (1)
1. Stuart & Holt’s Ollandsheart Abraham,
14 months, good basic type with balanced head but could have a little softer expression. Well bodied but could have a little more angulation front and back, more shapely hindquarters and be firmer in hock when going away. Excellent coat texture. Tail rather tightly carried.
PGD (1)
1. Cooper’s Kilbourne Tyne,
Mature and fully coated, head is a little strong in skull and maybe eye could be darker. Fit and hard, lots of type throughout and well-constructed and balanced. Moves better coming on than going away. Interested to see that he sired so many of the winners.
LD (3)
1. Grimshaw’s Greyflax The Jazz Singer to Jamalison,
Shapely and well bodied, appealing head but eye could be a shade darker, well angulated front and rear, fit and hard and in excellent coat. Moves around with scope but could be a little truer out and back. Rather lethargic on the move.
2. Francis, Blatchford & Phelps’ Beardswood Strahan at Peopleton,
On the move he is truer out and back than 1 but he tends to lengthen out and lose shape in profile. Well-proportioned head, eye could be a little kinder, excellent neck and shoulder, just not the shapely outline of 1.
3. Girling’ss Pyefleet Timothy
OD (3)
1. Finnett & Heathcote’s Ch Hyndsight Desperado,
Mature, rugged and essentially typical throughout. Well-proportioned head, nicely boned and ribbed, well angulated throughout, elegant but powerful neck, shapely outline and in excellent coat. Took a while to settle in front then moved true. On overall package and maturity won the CC & BOB.
2. Peach’s Ch Rubeus Hagrid to Kilbourne,
Up against 1 looked a little immature but he has so much type and scope about him and excels on the move. Very pleasing head and expression, gently curved in the right places and should look very impressive with full maturity. RCC today but I’m sure in a year’s time it might be the other way around.
3. Peach’s DK Ch Finrod von Averlon
MPB (2)
1. Akehurst’s Tiobraid One In A Million,
6 months baby who was so well-schooled. Truly beautiful head and expression, good overall proportions and moved steadily for her age. Just needs to develop in body with full maturity but she has the framework there.
2. Finnett & Heathcote’s Hyndsight Careless Whisper,
8 months so older than 1 but not as composed and needing to get her act together. Quality head and forehand, perhaps a little better angulated than 1 and has great appeal in static outline and shape but larked about on the move and gave her handler a hard time.
JB (6)
1. Bailey’s Greyflax Lady Sings The Blu’s,
17 months who excelled on the move, especially on the go around. Exquisite head and expression, very well constructed all through and although she is extremely well muscled up behind she could do with a little extra covering of body weight. Pleasing coat texture. Loved everything about her. Had she been carrying more body she would have been BOB but as it was she won her first CC.
2. Finnett & Heathcote’s Hyndsight Mandolin Wind,
17 months again and carrying more body weight than 1 but didn't quite have her effortless scope on the move. Good head type, lighter in eye than 1 but has a very well-proportioned outline and excellent coat.
3. Grimshaw’s Hyndsight Long Cool Woman to Jamalison
PGB (2)
1. Peach’s Blixten Star to Kilbourne,
Beautifully balanced and of excellent type all through. Impressive forehand, quality head, moved out well when she settled and was in good coat. RCC
2. Taylor’s Minerva McGonagall of Ormanstar,
Good basic type but not quite as settled in front as 1 or having as much rear drive. Also preferred expression of 1.
LB (3)
1. Spencer’s Shagiead Mrs Bridges,
Shapely, well bodied and one of the truest movers here. Impressed in head and expression, good angulation throughout, well coated.
2. Bailey’s Greyflax Team Spirit,
Longer cast and not as well coupled as 1 but has lots to like and has lots of type. Not as pleasing in expression as 1 and didn't go away so true.
3. Bond’s Regalflight Racer
OB (2)
1. Finnett & Heathcote’s Ch Hyndsight Runin Down A Dream,
Pleasing overall type, quality head, kind expression, well bodied, shapely outline. Could use her hocks more but essentially sound.
2. Taylor’s Kilbourne Pandora to Talorpeche,
Another of good overall type but not as pleasing in eye  and expression as 1 and a little shorter in upper arm. Well bodied and in full coat. Like 1, could have had more drive behind.
